January or "New Beginnings" (Sunday School Bulletin Board)Categories: Sunday School Bulletin Boards This is a bulletin board to encourage folks to start fresh. It could be for students, a small business, an organization, a church... The title of it is: "YOU - ALWAYS NEW." Across the top of the board, list items that are new. If yours is a Bible-based organization, use a Bible Concordance to find what's "new" in the Bible: new…wine, moon, Jerusalem, garment, house, bottles, song, fruits, name, heavens, earth, commandment, covenant, spirit, heart, cloth, lecture, tongue, man, creature, name, way, doctrine, creature... General terms that would work on any bulletin board are: new…ideas, steps, techniques, motives, paths, look, way, leaf. Pictures: Your bulletin board might include scenes of newly fallen snow, or footprints in fresh snow of people or animals. Pictures can have sleighs, skis, toboggans, streams, layers of thick snow on roofs, branches, mailboxes, fences. The pictures can stand alone or overlap. Sources: You're likely to find pictures in calendars, nature magazines, travel magazines, sports magazines and from the internet. Color Scheme: Consider a black and white theme, with a snowy white background and all black borders. As on new-fallen snow, we're all given opportunities to walk a fresh path, making fresh footprints, in a new year. The past is forgotten; the new year is met with new eyes. Let these ideas awaken new ideas in you and your bulletin boards. Olene Carroll |
