Lessons We Can Learn from David

Categories: David

What did you learn from reading the stories about David and Goliath?

First, not to be afraid of anything. After all, David wasn't afraid of the lion or the bear.

David wasn't afraid because he trusted God to help him.

King Saul certainly didn't have the same trust in God. He tried to put his heavy armor on David.

So this is what I learned from David:

  • Don't be afraid.
  • Trust God with all our hearts.
  • Don't feel bad when someone says something mean. No one believed that David could beat Goliath.
  • Don't be bullied by anyone; Goliaths can come in all shapes and sizes.
  • Run toward the challenge, not away from it.
  • Recognize that the battle (no matter what it is) belongs to God.
  • We can do anything with God's help.

Talk with your parents or Sunday School teachers about how to defeat modern day Goliaths.
