In Isaiah, we read about God's unbroken relationship with His people — both the promise and its fulfillment in an ongoing pattern that's visible throughout history. In Jeremiah, we see evidence of God elevating humble men like Jeremiah to become leaders precisely when they are needed. We learn how this steadfast prophet tried valiantly and heartbreakingly to mediate peace during a time of tremendous upheaval involving power changes between Assyria, Babylon and Egypt against Judah. And then there's the "wild and crazy" prophet Ezekiel, who never wavers in his efforts to rekindle the people's faith in and obedience to God, despite their stubborn resistance and bitter cynicism. All three books give resounding proof that God is always in control and fulfilling His divine goals for His people.
