Afraid of the Giants
Numbers 13-14
When the Israelites arrived at the edge of the Promised Land, God told Moses, "Send some men to explore the land which I am giving to you." Twelve men were chosen to check the land. The rest of the people set up camp and waited until the twelve explorers came back.
When the men returned, ten of them said, "this land is wonderful! We brought back some grapes which are so big we needed two men to carry them! But the people who live in that land are giants, and their cities have strong thick walls. They will destroy us!"
However, two of the explorers, Joshua and Caleb, said, "It is true that the land is good. But we should not be afraid to enter it, because God is with us. He promised to give us the land!"
The people did not listen to Joshua and Caleb. They became afraid, and wanted to go back to Egypt.
God was angry at the Israelites for being afraid. "Because you do not believe Me, you will not go into the land. You will wander in the wilderness for 40 years."
The cluster of grapes that the explorers brought back from the Promised Land was very large. Can you find your way through the cluster? |
