The Names of Jesus
One way we can learn more about Jesus is to know the names given to him in the Bible. For example, we know that he is our shepherd because he is called the good shepherd. We also know that he is the light of the world, and the king of kings.
In the book of Revelation, Jesus is called "the Alpha and Omega." Alpha is the first letter in the Greek alphabet, and Omega is the last letter. (These Greek words are used because the New Testament of the Bible was originally written in Greek.) So, when we call Jesus "the Alpha and Omega," we are saying that he is the first and the last. Jesus has been alive forever—he has no beginning, and he will have no end! Jesus is forever!
Because Jesus died on the cross for us, we too can live forever! Isn't that amazing?
