My friends ran and got help. My hand was bleeding. While I sat quietly with my hand in a towel, I remembered the Bible lesson on Sunday was about a prayer closet. Jesus told his disciples to go into their closets to pray. In fact we memorized this verse from Matthew: Matt 6:6
…when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Well there wasn't a closet to crawl into, so I needed to do this in my thinking. I mentally went into my prayer closet to get quiet. I knew that the dog didn't mean to hurt me. I didn't hate the dog, and he couldn't hate me. I knew I could love the dog. I felt God's love for me. I prayed to God to help me love more. Before I got to say Amen, the principal was pulling the towel off my hand. She saw the blood in the towel, but there wasn't a tooth mark on my hand. My hand was completely fine. I thanked God. At the end of the day, I told my Grandmother, parents, and Sunday School teacher about the healing I had in the prayer closet. |
